Going to the mine

New rock is coming from various sources. Prospecting is fun especially with mom who at 75, is still a good storyteller and four wheel driver. It comes naturally, as she drove down roads she had been on hundreds of times. Somehow, I missed it being a daughter instead of a son. What a fun day! We headed out late but explored a lot before dark. She was not the armchair Grandma anymore, but Jeanie, reliving her life with Dad and the adventures and narrow escapes they had while mining and bringing rock into the yard. My sons like to prospect too, as well as my brothers and nephews. I guess you could say, it is a family tradition. Look for new colors to be coming soon....
